VEL TYE was founded by Steve Herring in 1993 after serving more than 20 years in the United States Navy. Thanks to his background in the armed forces, he knew the limitations of standard tactical vests and accessories and set out to develop a vest that would provide better protection without sacrificing comfort or mobility.
